Privacy Policy & Terms of Use
Overview
PDF Split and Merge Offline ("the app", "we", "us") is an Android app that lets you merge, split, rotate, extract, delete, reorder, and convert PDF files directly on your phone. This page explains what happens to your data when you use the app, and the terms that apply to using it.
This policy applies to the app published under the package name com.jeweality.pdfsplitandmergeoffline by JEWEALITY.
How your files are handled
Every PDF tool in this app (Merge, Split, Images to PDF, PDF to Images, Extract Pages, Delete Pages, Reorder Pages, Rotate Pages, PDF Info) runs entirely on your device using on-device libraries. When you pick a file:
- The file is read from your device's storage only to perform the action you asked for.
- The result is saved back to your device's storage (and, if you choose, to a folder you pick yourself).
- At no point is the file, its contents, or any part of it uploaded to our servers or any third party.
We do not operate a server that receives, stores, or processes your PDF files.
Data we collect
We keep this simple. We do not run our own analytics or ask you to create an account.
| Data | Collected by | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Your PDF/image files and their content | Not collected | Processed only on your device, never transmitted |
| App settings (dark mode, language, chosen output folder) | Stored locally on your device only | Remembering your preferences |
| Advertising ID, device info, approximate location (from IP), app interaction data | Google AdMob & its advertising partners | Showing and measuring ads (see Section 4) |
We do not sell your personal data. We do not have access to the advertising data described above â it is collected and processed directly by Google and its partners as described in their own privacy policies.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
This app is free to download and use. To help cover its costs, it shows ads served through Google AdMob, including banner ads and occasional full-screen (interstitial) ads shown after you finish using a tool.
To show ads, Google AdMob and its advertising partners may collect and process:
- Your device's advertising ID
- General device information (device model, operating system version, language)
- Approximate location, derived from your IP address
- App usage and interaction data (such as which ads you see or tap)
This information may be used to serve ads, including personalized ads where allowed by your consent choice and applicable law. This processing is carried out by Google, not by us directly. You can read more in Google's Privacy Policy and AdMob's data collection disclosures.
We have configured AdMob test settings during development; before this app is available to the public, it will only use Google's production ad units.
Your consent choices (EEA, UK, Switzerland)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the app will show you a consent form (through Google's User Messaging Platform) before any personalized advertising data is collected. This lets you choose whether to allow personalized ads, or to see only non-personalized ads.
You can change this choice at any time. If the app doesn't currently show a "Privacy Options" control in its Settings screen, you can reset your consent choice by clearing the app's storage/data from your device's app settings, which will show the consent form again the next time you open the app. We recommend contacting us (Section 12) if you'd like help changing your choice.
App permissions
| Permission | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Storage access (older Android versions only) | To save your converted/merged PDF files to your device's Downloads folder |
| Internet & network state | Required by Google AdMob to request and show ads |
| Advertising ID | Required by Google AdMob to serve and measure ads (see Section 4) |
The app does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, or location.
Data retention & storage
Files you create with the app (merged PDFs, split files, converted images, and so on) are stored on your device's own storage, under your control, for as long as you keep them. You can delete them at any time using the app's History screen or your device's file manager. We have no copy of these files and cannot retrieve them for you.
App preferences (dark mode, language, chosen output folder) are stored locally on your device and are removed automatically if you uninstall the app.
Children's privacy
This app is not directed at children and is not part of Google Play's Families program. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can address it.
Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights such as:
- Asking what data is processed about you by our advertising partners
- Withdrawing your consent for personalized ads at any time (Section 5)
- Resetting your advertising ID from your device's system settings
- Opting out of ad personalization at the OS level (Android Settings → Privacy → Ads)
Since we do not hold your personal data ourselves, requests about advertising data should be directed to Google using the links in Section 4. For anything else, contact us using the details in Section 12.
